Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) with over 11 years professional programming experience in commercial, government and university environments.

Applied Information Sciences, Designer/Developer, June 2005 to Present

Member of a team building the next generation of thin client applications for NASD’s Dispute Resolution division using .NET 2.0 technologies and the IBM Informix database. Participated in the full life cycle of the project, including producing architectural and design artifacts, unit tests, completed code and documentation. Introduced developer unit tests to the project.

Assisted in internal research projects integrating the use of Microsoft Office InfoPath, SharePoint Services and BizTalk 2004.

BugBytes, Inc., President, July 1996 to Present

Designed and developed software systems for a variety of government and commercial clients including: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, Outpost Sentinel, LLC, Quantitative Biomechanical Technologies and others. Created database driven desktop and web applications using both Microsoft .NET and Java technologies. Largely responsible for overall design and architecture of most of these systems. Acted as a mentor and resource to junior level developers. (Part and full time assignments)

University of Washington, Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean (JISAO), Research Consultant, July 2000 to September 2003

Designed and implemented desktop and web based information systems for describing and distributing environmental data collected by NOAA assets using Java and GIS technologies. Created extensions and new components for a client/server budgetary management system using Microsoft Access, SQL Server, .NET, XSLT and Java technologies. Worked with financial officer to identify business rules and desired new system functionality.

Worked independently and as a member of a number of teams to produce various commerce centric interactive software systems using Microsoft Visual Basic, ASP, C++ and SQL Server technologies.

Developed a regional groundwater model for the Duwamish river basin in Seattle Washington using MODFLOW, Microsoft Visual C++ and ESRI GIS tools. Brown & Caldwell Engineering, Junior Engineer, June 1995 to July 1997

Designed and developed ActiveX enabled applications using Visual Basic and C++ for integration with numerical sewer models. Created a two-tier Access database inventory system for in-field data collection of storm water facilities.

Developed a flexible fate and transport numerical groundwater modeling software package that simulated multi-species, multi-phase chemical and biokinetic reactions in saturated porous medium using Microsoft Visual Basic 3.0 and Watcom C++. Thesis: A Two Dimensional Numerical Model for Simulating the Movement and Biodegradation of Contaminants in a Saturated Aquifer.

Harza Environmental Services, Junior Engineer, Summer 1992

Created an automated calibration program for EPA's numerical sewer modeling software, SWMM, using Microsoft Quick C and the Microsoft Excel macro programming environment.
